Why the Accidental Mentor?
Because we don’t do anything alone. Even the “self made” person is not self made. As I look at my life, I am thankful that I learned this early and recogized the people who helped me along the way and continue to help me. Not only do I have a host of people in the last 35-40 years who I would say have “mentored” me in some way…. I also started giving back.
When I have encouraged people to be a guide or encouragement to someone as a mentor, they often don’t see what they have to give. I hope that by following stories of people who I have mentored and who have mentored me… some with this title and some without really even knowing it - I can help shift and expand the paradigm of mentoring from a formal program to a relational connection the helps us all grow!
